Kasai Clan
General Information, Relationships, Traditions and History
_____________

- Overview -

A clan that is run by the leader and only the leader. What the leader says, goes; very rarely is the obedience caused by respect, as most of their leaders ruled through fear. Baby Pokemon are not allowed to choose where they want to go when they're apprenticed and nor are they allowed to change. Everyone is to go where their talents would prove more efficient, though the clan usually doesn't protest to the leader's word since the clan is taught and built under working for the sake of the clan. Those who slack are usually disliked and those who run away from the clan are usually never allowed back. The Kasai Clan has a chain of corrupt leaders that was only just recently broken by Jagg the Arcanine, the leader before the current clan leader; Krik the Umbreon.

- Relationships with Other Clans -

When Kasai was still locked in its chain of corruption, they tended to pick fights at every little thing and have frequently attempted to take over their neighbors territory. These actions ceased once Jagg became leader and they have closed up like a Clamperl since Krik became leader. They will attempt to take territory again only when they are in need of it, and are not afraid to use force.

- History -

There is no known exact day when Kasai clan actually started to call itself a real clan, for the clan was formed accidentally by a wandering old Camerupt, named Caron, who managed to befriend and attract followers with his wisdom. The elderly beast didn't mean to do this, but did not mind it either way. He made his home inside Kasai mountain which used to be just for him, until the pokemon began to visit so frequently that they began to live with the wise fire and ground type. It was like this for a few years, until one day the old Camerupt disappeared, and a Tentacruel, Luko, took his place.

With Luko, came the chain of corruption. Luko had taken the job himself for the purpose of good, but began to realize what benefits his power brought and so decided to take advantage of it. The Tentacruel began to create rules and routines for the large group of pokemon, along with traditions that involved worshipping him like a god. As time passed, the Tentacruel eventually fell and gave his position to those who would carry on his ways. Somewhere along the line, the traditions of worshipping the leader as king were lost and replaced with simple statements for ceremonies.

The corruption infected the leaders, leaving the clan to fear the higher ups, and to be enslaved to them. Then, something big happened. A Mawile by the name of Niikar rose to the throne, and did something no leader dared to do. Niikar had taken the clan, and moved into The Sacred Territory, the central area where the five clans would gather in times of need. Niikar wanted control of the middle, so she could have access to every territory in the area and be ready to strike and take over the other clans. The other clans realized this, and drove both her and the rest of Kasai out of the Sacred Territory. This battle is the only time blood had ever been shed in the Celestial Meadow.

Niikar died from wounds of from the fight, leaving her place to a Bastiodon named Sahar. This leader stayed relatively quiet, but still headed massive border disputes and battles. During his time as leader, there was a bit of a racism against types; if a pokemon wasn't Ground, Steel, or Rock type, they weren't superior. The Bastiodon was soon over thrown by a clever Noctowl named Clockinerk, who turned the superiority to Flying and Levitating pokemon. The Noctowl's death came rather quickly, as an ex-Fubuki Cryogonal named Polar grew sick of the bird's nonsense and took over.

Polar was a rather abusive leader and a frozen death awaited those who opposed him, until finally the ice pokemon reached his limit and disappeared, the clan assuming him to have wandered off to die on his own. A Luxray by the name of Grif took his place and the line of corruption continued as he attempted to persuade the rogues in the lands beyond the clans to attack the other territories. His attempt at persuasion failed, and he was killed.

Instead of the next Head rising to the throne, a Arcanine named Jagg refused to allow the chain to continue. He managed to defeat the Head Knight in combat, and as a result became Kasai Clan's leader. He covertly tried to help the neighboring clans, being lenient on border lines and pretending he didn't notice as he tried to regain trust with the other clans. His reign was peaceful, but not long lived. The Arcanine grew sick, and eventually died leaving a new leader, one he had hand picked and trained himself, to lead the clan onward to survival in the most peaceful way possible.

Krik the Umbreon is now the current leader, although he is not what Jagg had hoped. As soon as Krik became leader the clan became a hard shell to the outside. They refuse to be so lenient on borders, and kept to their own territories. Krik has become obsessed with trying to keep the clan alive, but he isn't afraid to use force on the other clans if Kasai needs it...

- Traditions -

-Ceremonies-
Kasai Ceremonies have become extinct over the years. There is still a ladder one must climb from kit to Healer, Scout or Knight, but big deals are not made out of it. To them, it is rather odd to hold ceremonies, for they should be only for celebrating for a victory or miracle.

-Elder Responsibilities-
Retired Clan members are rather rare since a majority of the clan would rather continue working for the clan than lounge about all day doing nothing. Those who have retired are to be cared for by the Healers, both apprentices and full-fledged healers.

-Apprentice Training Regimes-
There is no specific training schedule unless the mentor assigns a schedule. An apprentice is not to graduate into being a full member of what they're training under until they are capable of besting their mentor in whatever they do. Mentors sometimes allow their students to surpass them on purpose and although this is technically allowed, it is certainly frowned upon. If an apprentice cannot best their mentor but the mentor has nothing left to teach them, then they can retry their trial any time they like until they either get lucky or form some kind of plan against their mentor. Knights will fight each other, Scouts will go on hunting races, and Healers will be tested by gathering items necessary for healing a specific illness or injury.

-Hunting-
Anybody is allowed to hunt in Kasai -the more food the better- but Scouts are the only ones that are trained to specialize in it and do it daily as a job. Bringing back no food means the Scout does not get to eat unless everyone else has already gotten at least one piece of food to eat that day. Babies are fed first and the rest of the clan is then fed in the order of Apprentices, Knights; Healers and Scouts, Leader, with the clan Elders being fed last. This is due to their small appetites and over looked use. The Kasai Clan have yet to realize that Elders are a useful source of knowledge and wisdom. Because of this Elders serve little purpose to them and so are fed last.

- Notes/Other -

Apprentices cannot choose which category they will be trained under, and are usually based on what their species is good at. For example, an Aggron would be placed as a knight for its size and heavy attack, an Arbok would be trained as a scout for its agility and ability to paralyze prey with Glares, and a Audino or a Chansey would be a healer because of its natural ability to heal others. In your bio, choose WHY the pokemon would have been given their position. If it does not make sense, you will be notified and you will have the choice of getting a position assigned to you or change your character's species. For example, how in the world would a Shuckle be a scout?
